Threw jigs for crappie on 4/18 and we ended up with 16 keeper crappie and one nice walleye. The bite was decent up till about 7 and then it just shut down. We spent most of the day Friday up there as well but had minnows this time. We ended up with 45 keeper crappie and one white bass and the bite died off about 7 again just like the day before. Minnows below a slip bobber 10-15' deep as well as black/pink and anything with orange were our best producers.

I think we counted 30 boats at one point on Friday in the dead channel all fishing for crappie. Combat fishing at it's finest! The fish were biting though so it wasn't too bad.

Hey was watching the Amish and they was wading out just below the No Fishing Zone by the fence. Is it legal to wade out there to the rocks?

There use to be a sign there that said NO WADING but don't know if it was ever enforced. Heck the locals may have torn it down and used it for kindling.

There is a sign but I'm not sure how much they enforce it right by the fence where they are wading out. They are basically wading knee deep to get to the rocks that stick out of the water. Crappie are biting with a few hybrid being caught. Only caught a couple of dink catfish by the dam. Went further down and launched the boat. Caught 5 in a couple hours. Biggest went 20,11,8, and a couple of 5s.

People have been doing it a long time. That's where my son likes to fish if it's available.

It was the favorite launch site for the RC boats before they banned them.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
