J-Doc Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 It is mandatory that you have a master degree to own a wake boat. Masters Degree in Rudeness with a Minor in Ignorance. We were pulling up to the small dock at Horseshoe Bend to load and there was a party barge with only driver and 1 passenger leaving the dock. The driver cuts back in front of the dock and the ramp at full throttle as if to get on plane (like a barge can get on plane). Thus he churned up the water so much that it was difficult to ease up to the dock to allow my buddy to get out of the boat to grab the truck. Why would you depart from the dock, swing around, and gun-it to full throttle? WHO DOES THAT!!??!! Oh.......he does. So throw in deck boats and oversized/over-horsepowered party barges into the Masters Degree category. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

So throw in deck boats and oversized/over-horsepowered party barges into the Masters Degree category. Sunday afternoon, I was in the back of a cove just across the water from Moonshine Beach. A small group of pontoon boats descends upon the litttle cove (8-10 of them all came in radio-braring, people screaming, uppder deck dancing - the works). Half of the pontoon boats came in at full speed and dang near hit another bass boat that was about halfway as deep into the cove as I. 10-15 minutes later, after all the waves had settled, the guy and his partner in the bass boat calmly tied everything down, got on life jackets, then proceeded to literally do a couple of figure-8's around and between most of the boats in the cove. I will not lie - I smiled on the inside as the people started fussing around acting like the sky was falling (even though half of them had darn near over run that bass boat on the way in). When I fired up to leave, lots of folks started grabbing for things again, but I idled through the mess waving and smiling
J-Doc Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Its like they hate us anglers! Lol! I'm surprised you didn't show them how bad the Beast (joes boat) can do donuts in the cove! Hahaha!! jay bird Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 One of my proudest moments with my wife happened a couple years ago at the dam site ramp in the middle of summer. We had got to the dock right before 4 other boats full of people. Swung in and dropped her off at the dock. As I was making my circle I could hear the talk start in the other boats that might as get comfortable because this was going to take awhile. As I lined the boat up with the ramp she was already halfway down the ramp and stopped the trailer perfect about 5 seconds before I got there jumped out of the truck latched the boat and we were gone. As we where getting the boat ready and the kids in the truck (about five minutes) not one of the other boats had made it on a trailer. A couple old guys that saw it came over and said that was the slickest load they had seen all day
jolicious Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Where is Moonshine Beach? I will avoid it. Table Rock up by the dam
