For a guy who wants threads like these banished from the forum, you sure do a lot of participating in them.

I did not really get the impression that he wanted them banned, just did not want to get in trouble if violating the rules of the forum. I think that was cleared up a few pages back then it was a free for all. Still a civil discussion, I don't think anyone has a problem with that on here.

JDMidwest is correct. I was merely wanting to follow Phil's posted rules. Those have now officially changed, so I have no issues participating at this point.

My reticence was entirely about respecting the forum.

Plain and simple, there are at least 150 million cars with 2" exhaust pipes pumping out co2 at least 45 minutes a day in just this country alone. 150,000,000 x 2" = 300,000,000" pipe. 63,360" = 1mile. That is a pipe 4734.84 miles wide pumping out co2. You be the judge. There is evidence that the world had very high co2 levels long ago and vegetation thrived, so maybe it could be solved by co2 breathing organisms called "plants". I somedays cant help but see the damage people do to the world and on others I think that it all would correct itself if we where extinct. Like George Carlin said "We are a mere case of fleas, a surface nuisance, that the earth would just shake off if it wanted to".

Too many trees is causing problems too. The planting of trees where historically there have been few in the west has lowered snowfalls and lowered the water tables and runoff. They have killed off native prairie plants and hurt the animals that require them.

As far as trees, what's really hurting is all the tropical rain forest clearing. I often get onto Google Earth and "explore". I've perused the Amazon, the Congo, and Southeast Asia, and it's sickening the amount of cleared land, with roads shooting off into the forest and new clearings spreading like a cancer. Too many people, all wanting a piece of the pie, that's our biggest problem.

They do make them to run on soybean oil. Not sure what the conversion cost is. But mother earth will love it.

Will she? The ethanol thing hasn't turned out that way, given the marginal/highly erodable lands being brought back into the farm production to take advantage of the high crop prices, and increased starvation in developing countries because of those same higher crop prices.
