Quillback Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 No matter how tasty those who eat bugs try and make it sound, I just could not eat one of these things. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Cicadas-The-Shrimp-of-The-Land-206945321.html

jdmidwest Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I think the bulk of them will be east of us this year. Too bad, I still have a box of those flys ready for the next big hatch. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
ozark trout fisher Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I think the bulk of them will be east of us this year. Too bad, I still have a box of those flys ready for the next big hatch. Yeah, I'm bummed about that too. They make that horrible, piercing noise for half the spring/summer but it's well worth it. I've never seen a "hatch" that drove the bass and bluegill more crazy...Just about any popping bug or foam beetle in existence would keep you in business.
Jack Jones Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I used this article to help prove to my 4 yr old boy that yes, sometimes people eat bugs. I also told him that since we're going back east this year for vacation, we may end up having them for dinner one night.....He's sufficiently freaked. What good's having children if you can't traumatize them from time to time..... "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
