GNSfishing Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 The top two fish this year were caught close to long creek. Not sure what they were fishing with. Just goes to show you that you don't have to complain about how far the weigh in is from the James. You simply have to find fish closer and you can still win this tournament. Takes one bite. Yep but can you see 300 boats with in that area trying to fish.. You would've had to take a number to fish a location there. I still believe you could have more interest if you would have more than 1 checkin on TableRock. Do relize what kind of boat ride it would have been yesterday say from Cape Fair or Big M with all of the big boats out and about and how much time it would've taken to get to Long Creek dock from either one of those 2 areas.. I have heard that you have had 3 or 4 checkin areas on Lake of The Ozarks, is that true??
OBBT Staff Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 We don't run and event on LOZ that's a different group. No offense at all to the other orgnizations but we have a completely different set up than most tournaments. Not feasible to separate our staff and rig etc. We've gone over this before, we are there because of Bass Pro Shops and part of what we are doing is assisting with the promotion of their properties. Multiple weigh ins do nothing to assist in that. If anything they would diminish our efforts. The set up at Long creek was awesome and a much quicker weigh in experience for the anglers. Finally, the event grew by 52% this year over last year so I think it's safe to say there's plenty of interest in the event and the location isn't hurting the turnout.
jpb2187 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 People just like to complain... If the event is growing by upwards of 50% I think you are doing fine.
Hunter91 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Thanks for putting on this great event. We fished the Baxter area and a friend fished the Cape Fair area. Its possible to fish anywhere on the lake with this event. Thanks again.
OBBT Staff Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 Thanks for the feedback and for fishing w us. See you next year.

Don't change a thing. People would still complain if you let them fish this event for free probably. The event, staff and all the sponsors are top notch. Meeting people and talking to other anglers who share the same love of the sport is a good time win, lose or draw. Thanks for coming to TR and looking forward to next year 1 day after it ended. You guys rock.
