I also got mine in the mail today. I wish I got them on friday, because I hit my local trout waters on saturday. I'll try and hit a local pond to do some testing. Thanks Phil.

Mine showed up in the mail yesterday too. My dad and I are headed to the White and/or Norfork Father's Day weekend so we'll try them out then and post a review. It looks like a great concept for being able to quickly change depth/indicator size on the fly. I've always dreaded adjusting an indicator due to the kinks left from its original placement.

I have mine and just happen to be heading to Bennett for a couple of days.

I like it with 5X and a little weight, sometimes 2 flies even.

Do you adjust the amount of wool accordingly, I assume you don't use all of it? Is this wool uncleaned, or do I need to Gink it?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I havent been able to hit the water yet but did put some on a 5x tippet. The little pieces of tubing are said to be reusable, we will see. They definitely get stretched out when you use them the first time and are looser. Im curious to see if the indicator slides on the tippet after they are stretched out. The package did come with extra tubing.

Yes, this is where the little piece of tubing gets stretched out. I was trying to see the maximun that would work in the tube. Pretty sure you should use just enough to float.

My big thing with this indicator would be will it slide. I havent been able to hit the water but figured I could do some casting on dry land to test for sliding. I use 5x most of the time so I tried it on that first. The wind was blowing so I had to put a little extra in the cast to get it out. 45' cast, it moved down on the tippet. I'm thinking shorter casts and it would be fine. My personal opinion is I don't care for it if it slides. Right now I use floatmaster, thingamabobbers and football type indicators and will stay with those. First pm with an address and I will send this to you for you to try out. Thanks Phil for letting me try these.

I get it to work with little slippage and the wool floats like a cork --- I just wish it came in bright yellow.

Just once I wish a trout would wink at me!

I was able to use mine some this weekend on the White. We fished 3,500-8,500cfs the whole time. I generally use the thingamabobbers on the bigger water and will continue. When we fished slower water where presentation was needed they worked great on 4 and 5x. They landed softly and were ale to suspend quite a bit of weight. They didn't handle the shoal water well where a wave was able to break over the indicator. The biggest advantage was the reduction in tippett/leader damage compared to other indicators I've used. Thanks for the gift Phil and I'll be sure to phone you up the next time I'm up and need a room.

I finally made it out on Sunday to try the kit Phil sent me. I was fishing on Taney where the exit of Rebar is and the beginning of the Big Hole. There were a lot of rainbows midging in this area so I tied on a red zebra midge and put on the strike indicator and made a few casts. I was using 6x fluorocarbon tippet and had the strike indicator set at around 12 inches after only a few casts the indicator ended up about 6 inches from the midge. I wasn't making hard casts either. It does land very softly on the water and floats high so it's really easy to identify bites but on lighter line it won't stay in place. I think as the others have said this system is much better suited to heavier line and flies. Would probably work well with a jig. Headed back down this weekend so maybe I will get a chance to try it out again but for the lighter stuff I will stick with a football style with the elastic band in the middle.
