Gavin Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Here's the new gate at Dawt....They have made a ton of changes in the past couple of years. New bar, restaurant, and they aren't done yet. The Rueben wasn't bad, but the service left allot to be desired. We did see a fellow portage the dam on river right while we were there..so it its doable.

ness Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Needs razor wire along the top. Any enterprising floater could scale that in no time. John
Terrierman Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Needs razor wire along the top. Any enterprising floater could scale that in no time. A line of broken beer bottles glued to the top of the gate would be more appropriate. P.S. I've been through that gate. They were actually pretty nice to me, I got there not knowing the deal. Paid my two bucks or five bucks or whatever it was and no problem. But it was during working hours and I wasn't drunk or obnoxious.
Brian Wise Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 majestic! So proud..... I have a picture of the gate too, but I can't show it on here. My Youtube Channel
Coldspring Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Every big flood I'm always impressed that the dam remains standing. Possibly a concrete ramp on the side opposite the mill for walking down. It's a big mess of decks and cattle panels, not sure about the historic aesthetic qualities now. The decks did seem strong from the times I've been on them, hopefully they will support the weight of 10 or more tons of people moving around late at night.
