Al Agnew Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Oh, I'm sure there is a lot of interest, but I'm just as sure that stocking would be a very expensive proposition for only short term gains at most, and probably worthless. The biologists have pretty well decided that stocking only works when the native fish population is severely depressed for some reason that can be fixed.

The number of Missouri anglers who pursue walleye in Ozark streams is extremely small. So, the question is, if you are one of the fortunate few who catches walleyes on a regular basis, including goliaths over two feet long, and are understandably unforthcoming about your "spots," why would you want a stocking program that would both increase fishing awareness and pressure, while possibly diluting the "natural" stock? You've got a good thing going. Why f*** it up?
