Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 15, 2013 Root Admin Posted June 15, 2013 AFter a glowing report by a couple of my guests here on walleye, I drove to Diamond City and put in this am at 6. Tried several points. Broke off one walleye but had nothing but blue gill bites till I had to get back at 8 am. Quick trip but I have laundry duty this morning here at the resort. Big turn over day. Not sure if I was fishing wrong points. Tried from 10 to 30 feet on the bottom. The points I fished were deep points though. First time there... but it was their first time the other day too so... Phillip Stone is catching them over there too. Just have to be dialed in better... I'm not a walleye fisher.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 15, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted June 15, 2013 Dang it... Babler went this morning later. Put in at Tucker Hollow and caught 'em. He'll have to post his report... I'm too tick to do it for him :-0!
ozarksfishin Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Phil, most of the walleye we have been catchin are on the flat points in the 12-16 ft range. Very light bite, they just load up on it. We hadour limit Friday in 4 hours with only 2 short ones (3 people) plus a dozen kentuckys and that many white bass. Lots of fun for sure. Be sure to use the boat ramp on the west side of the park (the one in the campground) its a lot easier loading and unloading right now with the high water. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 16, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted June 16, 2013 Ramp I did. It's hard to find. And it was busy. In that area (Diamond City) I couldn't identify long points vs steep points being my first time over there and I didn't take any maps with me. The lake is 10 feet high so at least for me it was difficult.
ozarksfishin Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 That's true Phil, everything over there looks the same with the high water. There is a good flat point in front of the swimming area, another one is the island to the N east of the swimming area. We caught several on the S east side of the island. They need a sign or two to get to the ramp in the park. OAF Contributor Phillip Stone http://ozarksfishin.com
