Pepe Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Now that summer is here, what colors are you using for drop shot baits?
Quillback Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I like Zoom Finesse worms in Old Purple and Plum.
Old plug Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I do not fish what should be called a drop shot. But here i s something you might want to try I use it all the time where you would use a Carolina rig. I put a swivel on the line and below that a few inches I put a bas hook size 02 or 03. Then I attach a 1/4 to 3/8 bait type bell sinker about 18 inches or so below that. This I cast of pitch into areas you would be using a Carolina rig. I use plastic worms on it 6 inches or longer. You can do more with this than a Carolina Rig. It gives you options in the presentation.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Not sure it matters a lot as long as you are over a bunch of fish, especially if there is bait around. Worms = plum, w'melon red, S&P, brown/purple. Tiny Fluke = W'melon red, shad colors. Might be more important if you are trying to coax them out of tree tops, or if there is not bait in the area, but those are last resort fish for me.
