RSBreth Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I was at Academy Sports yesterday (I almost never go there) and saw these: http://www.foreverlastonline.com/Flats-Predator-Wading-Boots_p_55.html They didn't have my size to try on but since several people here (including me) are always trying to find the "perfect wet wading shoe" I thought I'd see if anyone has used these. They look O.K. for the price but I wondered if they would last more than one season. I also saw they carry an inexpensive Pelican stand-up paddle board. I can't wait until I see someone try to stand up while going through a fast riffle and bite it on one of these. I can't decide what to yell yet - "GNARLY DUDE!!!" or something like that. We shall see...
exiledguide Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 LOL I went by there yesterday also, I wonder why? Except for Zoom and a few other brands they are thin on baits I've been there 3 times since they opened and other than a St Louis Cardinals can cozie I couldn't find anything to buy...........Maybe around Xmas. I saw those wading boots and I wondered how they would hold up also.
jdmidwest Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I get to see them on Friday, one opens up here locally in Cape Girardeau. Never been to one, but have heard some good things. I would rather have a Gander, BPS, or Cabela's that close. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I had a pair of Cabelas flats boots that I wore with my kayak. I generally wore them in the winter with my neoprene's. My ides was that the buoyancy would allow me to get of the water quick. The down side was soft support in the sole. If these or some like them have some support and rock protection, rather than something for soft sand, they should be great. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
