Flysmallie Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 James River Outfitters. Great people. Great section of the river. Â Â
Fishslayer88 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Yea JRO is great really good fishing on any of their floats, i recommend the cox ford trip. But the river gets hit pretty hard on the weekends i know it was full today.
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 The James looks empty compared to the Niangua about noon on Saturday . Most of the better rivers are best fished on Thursday and Friday during the summer peak. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Fishslayer88 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Oh i iknow, But its a whole lot more busy then it was 5 years ago and i kinda miss it...
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I know it is, but it always surprised me that the James didn't have much more traffic than the Gasconade in spite of being so close to Springfield. I guess the memory of their last toilet flush makes them wary. I always smile when I think of a post many years ago by a fellow in regards to some algae growth in the Pothole. He said it was because of the sewer plant at Rockaway Beach. The insane part of the assumption was that Rockaway wasn't the last town before the pothole, Ozark Beach is, Rockaway has a new plant and this clown lived in the Finely watershed, one of many in Missouri and Arkansas that are in the watershed feeding the Pothole. He took great offense that someone would think him wrong. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
RSBreth Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I think about that, too. I don't know why the James isn't hit as hard as it COULD be - but I'm thankful for that. Maybe I'll use that thought as my "happy place" the next time 15-18 canoes and kayaks waddle all over me as I'm fishing ( It could be like the Niangua, it could be like the Niangua, it could be like the Niangua).
