A friend and I were fishing this weekend and pulled out this nice largemouth (near 7lbs/near 23"). The fish was released shortly after we got enough pictures and video. We beleive in catch and release on the Elk and its tributaries, as we know enough fish are pulled out of these waters (both legally and illegally) that we hope others get the chance to experience this thrill as well! We've fished these waters for many many years, and to date, this is the biggest largemouth we've landed. What a day!

Great fish! Thanks for the picture and your angling ethics.

I always wonder if fish like that actually grow to that size in the river, or are washed over a pond dam during unusually high water? It always seems questionable to me that in the time it would take to grow that size that someone wouldn't get the opportunity to put a knife to it.

Beautiful fish and I hope someone else gets a chance to put her in an album and send her on her way.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Hey Creekfreak - was that you holding the 7 lb. LM caught in the Elk in the sports section of the Benton County newspaper? I'm thinking it must have been you as I wouldn't think there are too many 7 lbers coming out of the Elk. If so, congrats again!
