Members Dirtworm Posted July 28, 2013 Members Posted July 28, 2013 Had a great day catching a variety of fish on little creeks that intersect I-55. At one stop I noticed the majority of the fish I caught had strange open sores on them. I never had a thought of eating fish from this creek anyway, but seeing this makes me a little concerned for the fish population in this really fun little creek. What is up with this fish? "Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing." John 21:3 KJV If you don't catch 'em at night, try again in the morning.
jdmidwest Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Some kind of fungal or parasitic infection. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
MOPanfisher Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Looks like a basic fungal infection, but could be even a protozoan. Either way there is nothing you can do. Pretty common when creeks get warm and stagnant.
