Lancer09 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Over on Dally's Blog you can see a promo of the fish spines. I talked to Jim over at Plateau about them, he said he thinks they are something like $9 for 3, which definitely isn't cheap.
Lancer09 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 If you look at the flymen website they show everything getting set with CCG, honestly at that point why not just use the CCG to make your heads instead of buying these separately?

They aren't going to make any more money if you start doing that!! Â Â

Brian Wise Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 If you look at the flymen website they show everything getting set with CCG, honestly at that point why not just use the CCG to make your heads instead of buying these separately? I have kind of wondered the same thing. I got a bunch of the heads as samples a couple of months ago. I honestly think the very small to medium sized ones you are just as good with CCG, but when you get to the large and very large ones they are definitely lighter than the same amount of CCG stacked on to the head of a hook. there are other things that hold just as well as the CCG.. Its not failed me yet!! *** $2.75 a bottle** *** Thats what I used to put thise on with*** I agree Leonard. But for actually building almost weightless heads on medium - large flies.....CCG is unbeatable. I do find myself using Hydro more and more for quick-coating a whip finish too. My Youtube Channel
Jason R. Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I just got some "Solarez"- which is a CCG knockoff. Apparently it was originally for surf board repair. Stuff is pretty nice- the packaging is not near as nice as CCG though. But for the light and 15 grams of the stuff I paid 20 bucks. It cures really clear and has zero tack. I also have the Loon UV stuff and it is nasty- cures up real tacky and oily feeling. http://flyinthesouth.com/
Lancer09 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Where did you buy it at, I can't find it for less that 40 it so Jason?
