I've got a 3day rule. Start fishing the 3rd day after the river crests from a flood event.

The wster level has slowed its drop at that point and it's a nice green or aqua color stain.

Looking back, I think there's something to that..... and the 5th day sucks.

My grandpa told me that a long time ago, purely speculation but i always thought it was because a lot of fish gorge themselves when the river is coming up then they are not hungry for a few days.
