Members Rustynuts Posted August 12, 2013 Members Posted August 12, 2013 Morality has gone down the tube in the Ozarks, How do we turn the tide? Remember when you could unload the canoe on the side of a road and leave the windows down and the keys in the ignition. Now you get nervous leaving the truck anywhere that's not an outfitters guarded lot. WHY CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!!!!!!!!
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 In fact, I had my truck stolen out of my driveway sometime between midnight and 6am Sunday morning. Called the sheriff and in less than 20 minutes they were in my driveway taking a report. About 11 hours later, I got a call that they found my truck. It is now back home minus a few items and a 1/2 tank of gas. Buzz Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 That sucks Chief. Where did they finally find your truck?? I'm glad you got it back in one piece, I assume it was still in one piece. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

John Andrews Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Nothing hacks me off more than a theif. I work HARD for the things I have. Several times I have had to start over with nothing. I made myself a promise ( last week infact ) at 51 years of age I will defend whats mine with what ever force is needed to prevent anyone stealing what I have worked so hard for. Some would rather turn the other cheek, I am not one of them. I hope these people are lucky and get their belongings back. It's a sad world we live in these days.

I had a guy steal my trailer plates at an MDC boat ramp with 2 year tags right after I bought them. Would love to catch them in the act but I know nothing good would come from our meeting! joeD Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I have no sympathy because I don't believe them. However, I could be wrong. Therefore, let's help them and give them money. That's what they want right? Why go through insurance? Why ask friends or family for help? Let's just go "online" and have strangers pay for their loss. Oh, by the way, "God Bless."
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 They didn't ask for money Joe. Jack Jones Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Joe, they may be lying. Who knows? They don't appear to be asking for money or even replacement gear. From what I read, just help in maybe recovering their stuff. I don't have a small pair of waders or I'd consider donating. If the folks on this board all chipped a dollar, we could probably get the kid a good pair. I'd be wiling to pony up a buck and take the risk that I'm being scammed. I'm sure I spend more money for less worthy reasons almost daily. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
