Members sholder02
Thanks bo! Pretty similar to how I was fishing. Hopefully with the weather stabilizing it will help the bite a bit.
Members sholder02
Well, I survived. Took off at 7 PM and ran to the mouth of the Kings. Threw a DD22 (lavender shad) through the tops of cedars and across some points. Picked up a short. Fished some brush around there but no bites. Ran to a secondary and picked up a short on a PB&J football jig in about 18 FOW. Partner called and said he was almost to Viola (he's a football coach and said he'd be an hour or two late). Before I went to get him, I pulled up on the bank and started throwing a spinner bait (mouse) and caught another short. By the time I got him loaded up and back to the secondary, it was about 9:00. We had three keepers between 9:00-10:00. A smallmouth on a black and blue jig, a largemouth on a 12" worm, an the third keeper came on a speed craw. We had some more good bites that we couldn't execute on and each of us broke off on back to back fish. After 10:30ish, it shut down for us. We fished til 3:00AM without another keeper. Plenty of shorts. The keepers were caught between 15'-25' of water. We ended up in the middle of the pack. 12.58 won it and 3.59#s took big bass. Out of 12 boats, 3 had limits. Considering how the fishing went the previous week, I'm alright with where we finished and am looking forward to the next DAY tournament.
Champ188
Good job of hanging in there and earning some points.
Members usmcgrunt
Me and a buddy of mine night fish every weekend, but since we don't have a boat, we fish from the bank and can't enter any tournaments. We throw 3 baits- a 3/4 ounce black and green spinnerbait with a black colorado blade, big worms, and craws. The best colors for us are black, dark purple, and green. We mostly walk the bank around Mill Creek and we catch more keepers than shorts, and an average 5 fish limit for us is about 18 pounds.
jay bird
If you do not like night fishing you should try the lights from blue water LED. No wires the lights are right in your rub rail and flip on with a flick of switch. They light up the line really well at night and also do a good job of lighting up the shore so you can see a little of what you are throwing at. jay bird
I think they are pretty cool can not say I have caught any more or less fish with them, but have not got wraped up with cords once this year. Here is what they look like in the rub rail.
hknfsh
Hey jay bird.....where did you get the lights ? Do they come in a white light too?
Members Ultralance12
Hey jay bird.....where did you get the lights ? Do they come in a white light too? I too want to buy those lights. I don't think you want white for bug/ night vision reasons. With that color the bugs wont swarm you and it doesnt adjust your eyes. Trust me, wou want a "black" type light.
