Feathers and Fins Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 the bait they were spitting up was about 1 inch the lures I was using were 2.5 inch, if a guy got out early enough he could probably use crappie jigs to load up before the "pleasure" boaters showed up. Not hard finding the fish it was hard seeing bites with the boat traffic for me as they don't pop the line out of the riggers I had to watch for slight taps on the rod tips. Live Minnows would probably be very effective as well but be ready to weed through the shorts. These are open water fish relating to NO structure they are purely on the bait feeding. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
kjackson Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Hmmm...there are kokanee releases for riggers, but running a Flicker Shad would probably pop them. I may have to rig up some kokanee gear to play with. I'm thinking Tuesday may be a good day to play if I get some work done.
