Feathers and Fins Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 DEEP is the word. The fish are certainly at Beaver Shores but if you cant get down to them you will want to look other places. Trolled the area for 6 hours today using the #6 pearl white flicker shad in 18 to 33 fow for 9 walleye, 19 crappie, 3 catfish , 2 very ambitious perch, 1 white 1 hybrid, 1 drum, 2 Kentucky's. Speed was 1.8 mph. Lots of short fish have moved in the area, on the keeper side 9 crappie and 2 catfish the smaller fish came out 18 to 25fow and the legal fish were in the deeper water. Thermocline was holding right at 35fow. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Quillback Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Sounds like a great day on the water! Any size to the wallies?
Feathers and Fins Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 17.5 TO 17.75 it was getting frustrating throwing them back but at the same time come next spring I know where I will be throwing them. Lots of catfish in the area perfect 2 to 4 pound size cats couldn't ask for better. Just the depth is going to be hard for most people the downriggers are my saving grace. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members two old poops fishing Posted August 25, 2013 Members Posted August 25, 2013 saw your report bought a downrigger for table rock but have been steered away from its use would like to sell if any one interested walker tournament pro with auto stop never used listed at 519 like to get 150 have been doing well on the rock trollingover 40 to 50 ft with deep n in blue chrome good luck two old poops fishing
Feathers and Fins Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 I am confused! If you are trolling 40 to 50 ft is this a new unused rigger or are you trolling with a different rigger? And if trolling is working why would you be allowed to be steered away from it? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Feathers and Fins Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Pair of cannons with telescoping booms. 10lb balls ( for the downriggers CLARIFICATION ) lol. Love them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
