Pepe Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I am preparing some molds to make single-tail grubs and ringed swimbaits as part of the Danger Close Plastics project. I will also be pouring up some 5.25" senko-type's Please let me know what colors or color combinations you might suggest for Fall, Winter and even Spring. Thanks for your help Mike K.
Bill Babler Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Mike, don't know if you have a mold like the Yamamoto 4" slim sinko, but I use that bait for just about everything now. It seems to be a real fish catcher in just about any of the natural colors. Kind of picked this up 3 or 4 yrs. ago up on lake O. Lots of the best derby guys up there just wack the tar out of them using this bait as a shaky head, a drag bait or any bottom presentation. GP. watermelon candy and the lamenents are all good. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
RSBreth Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Second on the slim Senko's - I like the 4" and 5" - Bass Pro used to sell a copy and I stocked up at the outlet store one day, now I have to buy them from Yamamoto - ouch. Thinking about pouring them but I haven't seen an inexpensive mould. I may have to make a POP mould this winter.
Champ188 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Mike, for your ringed swimbaits, take a look at Keitech's Silver Flash Minnow color. It has performed really well for me on Table Rock and Beaver, along with a guide friend that I shared it with on Broken Bow in Oklahoma. Great color.
pstone Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Can't beat smoke with red flake on the single tail grubs.
Pepe Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Thanks guys. Could I ask one of you to measure the thickness of the slim senko in the center? You will need to cut it half to measure. I have some at the lake but plan to work on molds this weekend. I wont make an exact replica but will work on a few things.

Wow, those guys are really good. I try not to infringe on someone elses design but, like music, some stuff is just inspiring. Thanks for that suggestion. I'm not skilled enough to go up against those guys but it does provide ideas. Mike K.

Pepe Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Guys, I really appreciate the help. Please send me your mailing address via G mail = MRKSTL82. I will send some prototypes/samples as I finish them to those who posted I won't be looking to Xerox copy anyone else's stuff but will use it for inspiration and see what I come up with. Many thanks to all of you who have been patient waiting for orders and very generous in your donations to the wounded vets. The Big Tick has been popular and it's been keeping me busy making it. I just figured out how to make those with different colored claws and tentacles. I am looking forward to a weekend in the workshop to see what develops. Thanks, again, for your suggestions. 97procraft Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 With PB&J being a popular jig color, has anyone use a soft plastic that was pumpkinseed with purple flakes?
