Members NapoleonB Posted September 1, 2013 Members Posted September 1, 2013 so are there any good fishing spots around the s. peters/O'Fallon area? I really don't care what type of fish, just that I catch something!
Mitch f Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Go to Ft. Zumwalt park just west of hiway K on Veterens Memorial Parkway. But Busch Wildlife is the best bang for the short drive. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
moguy1973 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 You can fish down the middle of St Peters Golf Course Lake too. Supposed to be some big bass in there. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Old plug Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I may try some if those lakes around St Peters. My daughter is living in a apt in O Fallon or Cottelsville during the week while she does a consulting job 6 months while she does a consult job for dome software company up there. Never know though.i have a sister in law lives in a condo off hwy K thst has a large pond in it. Every time we stop there i think buzz baits or other top waters. But have never tried to fish it.
PAT92B Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I LIVE IN A SUBDIVISION IN OFALLON AND HAVE A COMMUNITY LAKE IN MY BACK YARD. I HAVE LIVED HERE SINCE THE EARLY 90'S WHEN THE SUBDIVISION WAS BUILT. THE LAKE HAS SOME GREAT FISHING I HAVE CAUGHT SOME OF THE BIGGEST FISH OF MY LIFE IN IT 8LB BASS, 12LB CHANNEL CAT ON FLY ROD, 2.5LB CRAPPIE THE BEST TIME TO FISH THE LAKE IS LATE WINTER AND EARLY SPRING. THE WATER IS OFF COLOR OR BROWN THEN AND WARMS QUICK AND THE FISH GET REALLY AGGRESSIVE, SUMMER FISHING NOT SO GOOD THERES NOT MUCH COVER AND THE FISH LEAVE THE BANK. SO CHECK OUT SOME SUBDIVISION LAKES THERE ARE PLENTY.
Mitch f Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 You can fish down the middle of St Peters Golf Course Lake too. Supposed to be some big bass in there. I fished there once after you posted about it and got a ton of chiggers! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
stlfisher Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I fished that lake at st. Peter's golf course many moons ago. The one time I had a chance to break 40 (back yhen it was 9 holes) # 9 was a 600 yard par 5. The lake was on the right. I am lefty and rarely hooked the ball. I put 4 in that stupid lake. I would hit busch too...good trout fishing in the winter and lots of ponds to explore too.
podum Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Mitch, never use a Smiley Face after you talk about getting chiggers. is more appropriate. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
