Whoa, some guy had a 20lb bag, pretty amazing❗I guess professional fisherman are kind of like pro golfers in a way. If you have ever played golf and then watched the pros on tv, you know what I mean.

The winner gets a boat, a Nitro I believe. I'm curious how that works, do they have to take delivery of the boat or can they get cash equivalent? A lot of those guys already own boats that they like so you'd think, they'd rather have cash.

Generally they get a certificate and redeem it at a dealership. Most end up selling them at cut rate prices to avoid taxes and licensing fees. Some, if allowed, are sold to the general public. BASS will only let you sell to an authorized dealer. A $50k boat (retail price) will usually bring about 35k. Good way to pick up a new boat if looking...

They don't but once you take possession you income tax on the retail value.

Am I looking at the correct website for the PAA. I did not see a 20 pound bag. Saw Shane Long had 17.5 but did not see the 20.

On another note, I was told yesterday that the prize payout is predicated on a Full Field of 150 boats. There are 65 boats in this derby, so the payout is not full, only partial in justification with the amount of participants.
