Feathers and Fins Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Fully agree AA needs in all scouting reports say he is a fire looking to burn opponents. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 This might be interesting to some on here, not that I would start any controversy. You guys know I would never do that. http://newsok.com/oklahoma-football-bob-stoops-right-wrong-about-the-sec/article/3807996 Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Good grief, its houstun nutt 2.0 That's a scary thought.
ozark trout fisher Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 What you mean Mizz is the only undefeated team? They are the only undefeated team in the SEC east, courtesy of Tennessee losing to Oregon on Saturday. Georgia, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Kentucky all have losses as well. Which is weird early season in a major conference. Although it is affected by a couple of early SEC games and the only team with a remotely bad loss is Kentucky (and even they look okay so far.) SO it looks worse than it is, but it's just not as dominant as we're used to seeing in the SEC. There is no one team in the conference that is unbeatable even when you do consider the stronger west division. Alabama has the best "resume" if you will with a couple of good wins over Virginia Tech and A&M. They are supremely talented but haven't put a whole game together.....their offense was mediocre against Virginia Tech and their defense did not look good against A&M. Georgia is in a similar boat with a great offense and a talented but thus far less than perfect defense. I would argue that LSU passes the eye test a lot more and I think they are the team to beat in the league this year. Their defense is great as always and their offense is actually starting to catch up. TCU was their toughest game and they are a mid-tier Big 12 team, so there are questions about the schedule and how it will translate to SEC play. Still glad we do not play them.
Feathers and Fins Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Agreed OTF, Looking across the Country though is interesting already. If I was asked to pick the top 4 this year it would go to Oregon, LSU, Bama and Boise St. Oregon will probably beat up all its opponents but not the toughest schedule. LSU and Bama have the SEC to deal with but with AJ and his experience and calm I give Bama the slight edge. I want to comment further on AJ, He looked like a Pro-QB this last weekend, calm cool collected and a leader, I hate Bama during season and seeing them loose makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside but AJ is one of those rare QB's that you know is something special and can win any game at any time. This may well be the year we finally get to see BAMA v Oregon in the NCG. But if that happens and Oregon looses fans will always say it was not under CHIPPER though. Boise always a threat just wish they would loose the ugly field it makes watching them tough on my eyes. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Boise always a threat just wish they would loose the ugly field it makes watching them tough on my eyes. The problem I have, and have always had with Boise is that they practice all year for a big game and then the idiotic announcers, trying to add color, put them on a pedestal. They hang with the also rans all season and then get a big bowl bid where the do well after a long practice season. There are a lot of bigger, and meaner, conferences they could have moved too, but didn't. Do you think Boise could hang a season in the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 or the Pac 12 and rank in the top 4? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Boise State got hammered by Washington 38 - 6 a couple of weeks ago.
stlfisher Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Boise State is 2-1 with a loss to Washington. I don't think they will do much this year.
Feathers and Fins Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 On a year by year NO WAY could Boise hang in some of the better conferences, but you have to take each team in what they are. Part of the big problem with so dam many D1 teams. I have said it for years and yes i know it wont happen but we need to get down to 16 or so in D1 that is all there really is in contention unless we want to add a few more Bowls, I am sure Viagra, Tampex and Trojan could put up some money. Be funny to see the Trojans v Red Raiders in the Trojan Bowl. If you look at it these teams always seem to be in contention. 1. Alabama 2. LSU 3. ATM 4. Wisconsin 5. USC 6.UCLA 7.STANFORD 8.Michigan 9. FLORIDA 10. FLORIDA STATE 11. AUBURN 12. IOWA 13 ARKANSAS 14. OU 15. Virginia Tech 16. Oregon Those would be the top 16 maybe throw in 4 more of your choice that are honorable mention but really those 16 are D1 in my opinion and have the chance each year to win any given game they would play. Honorable mention would go to; 1. UCLA 2. Stanford 3. OSU 4. Ill Even at 20 teams we could have a good season with playoffs for a NC. But would need to get away from any type of automatic births which is BS even today. Money talks simple as that and 35 bowls already and more planned is just stupid and if it wasnt for money wouldnt happen. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Not buying your list F&F, it doesn't hold up historically. I think you'll have trouble finding A&M, Wisc, UCLA, Stanford, Iowa, Ark and VA Tech on a list of perennial leaders. Ohio State, GA, TX come to mind as misses. maybe Miami, Notre Dame, and NB. All time leaders would probably surprise you when it comes to those not on it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
