mic Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Here is my newest one. This is called a hidden weight lure. Looks like 1/4 oz spinner but is a 1/2 oz. Half of the lead is below the skirt. No Ness, I'm not getting fresh with you.
moguy1973 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Looks good! Are you pouring your own lead? -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
mic Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Not yet. I wish I could find a Do-It mold for this "hidden body" style. I will say though... I been asking all my friends for old unused spinnerbaits and re-doing them. So far, they are turning out nice. I've also bought the $1.00 baits at Wal-Mart and upgrading them. Finally, I'm using bullet wieghts for heads, and they seam to work just as good also. This has some pro's for sure. The obvious... its cheap. Second, the skirt sits higher on the hook, which helps with short strikes. Finally, because the hook is loose, the overall lure fits better into tackle boxes. I'm sure there are negatives, but I haven't figured them out yet. I think my next investment will be an airbrush.
ness Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I'm liking those, mic. But, I've got to resist the temptation to start something new right now. Too many irons in the fire Where are you buying your stuff? I ordered some from Lure Parts Online.com and Barlow's. Neither one had everything I needed. Also checked Jann's. John
mic Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 What all are your looking for? I'm not having to many problems finding what I need.
ness Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Nothing at the moment. I night some balsa crank bodies, hooks, wire, rings, etc. couldn't find one vendor that had it all John
