mixermarkb Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 His statement in 2006 is fact. Obamaphones are a myth.
Justin Spencer Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I want to give it a chance, and believe me if my insurance sky rockets, or we find out it is costing us way too much as a nation I will be the first to say it must go. Right now I see the system of the ER being the primary physician for much of my community costing the tax payer way to much to be sustainable. Dude I was Married to a Irish, Redhead, New Yorker. 1969Larson Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 James 1:22, Matthew 5:42 and 19:20, Luke 14:12-14, Ephesians 4:28, Jeremiah 22:13-17, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-9 Those of you who like to look things up may want to look these up and read them. Is the ACA perfect? No, not to this libbie commie. But it's a step in the right direction. Jesus didn't believe in the survival of the fittest. Darwin did. Come on, man. Enough politics, I was wondering when we would get around to religion. There is sure plenty happening in this country that Jesus would not approve of. But to say that being forced to pay for someone else's healthcare is somehow "giving" or "charitable" is far from the truth. It isn't giving if you are forced to do it. Also, if I am going to end up being forced to pay for anyone else's healthcare but my own and my family's I have a few rules for you too... 1. Tobacco is illegal 2. Alcohol is illegal 3. Little Debbies are illegal 4. Corn Dogs are illegal 5. Demolition Derbies are illegal 6. 30 minutes of cardio a day is required Let me know if this starts to feel intrusive. I happen to really enjoy some of these things. But really, you want to pay for someone else's healthcare which is directly related to the choices they make? Have you ever been to a State Fair?
mixermarkb Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Yep. My gig is setting up stages, sound and lighting systems. I am at fairs all summer long. I still think healthcare is a basic human right as was said above.
1969Larson Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 So. The inner city kid of a single mom who has turned her back on the drug culture and is clawing her way out of the hood by working at McDonalds or Walmart should just die because his or her mom can't afford cutting edge cancer treatment? First, I know what you describe sounds sensational, but this kid doesn't exist. If he does, he is very rare and not a common occurrence that we need to address with a nationwide overstepping intrusion into every American's life and pocketbook. Second, there are already charities in place for this scenario. Some of you make it sound like people are dying on hospital doorsteps all over the place. Really? Give me a break. I can tell you that there are very very very few people turned away to die in this country due to lack of funds. There are however, millions of lazy, unhealthy, twinkie-eating, cigarette-smoking Americans who can't seem to be able to afford healthcare, but can somehow afford a flat screen TV, smartphone, and a car note. This is the REAL problem that needs to be addressed.

He either chooses to now get health insurance, or he pays the government a tax which enables it to pay his bills, which it had peviously been doing for free. Glad you are finally seeing the light. jdmidwest Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Has anyone been denied healthcare in the US under the present system before Obamacare? The problem was not denial of healthcare, it was the insurance factor. People were using the healthcare system and not paying their bills, therefore driving up costs for all others.
