Members Fishinator Posted October 3, 2013 Members Posted October 3, 2013 On the water @ 7am, off @ 10:30 Started out catching Smallie Jig fish in 18ft off of gravel banks, great overcast day so my brother started throwing top water "Baby Spook" and BAM a nice largemouth about 2.5 lbs, I already had 3 keeper Smallies but I cant pass up Top Water action. I put on a chartruse topped Baby Spook and 2nd cast a 4.5 lb Large Mouth we caught 6 on topwater and 5 Jig Fish , last jig fish LM over 5lb that my Brother caught we only had 2 fish that didnt keep. Great morning on the Rock, Very foggy in early morn. we caught more fish on the bank stretches than on the points this time. Used Brn/Purple jig with yum craw trailer that was orange on the bottom. Fun,Fun Day
Champ188 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I always miss out on those "easy" days. Dang it.
fishingaddiction Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Great report. Gotta love the topwater bite. This is first report I've read lately where the topwater bite was good, so glad to hear that. The conditions must have been perfect for it. The football jig has been working for me also. Good fishing. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
