ozark trout fisher Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 Sorry OTF I should have been specific I am talking National Championship Game. in my last post. Still say its going to be Bama v Oregon though. Ok. Certainly that's a valid prediction at this point. You must remember I am a big time Mizzou homer and was secretly thinking national title since about the Indiana game.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Well it is the Only way to beat and SEC team in the NC LOL. Hell anything will be better than last years ND had no business playing with the Devil. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
ozark trout fisher Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 One team I think might replace Oregon is FSU. That is one heck of a team. Beat Clemson on the road 51-14? Easily the most impressive win of the year for any time when you count margin of victory. And Florida/Miami is their best opponent the rest of the way. Jameis Winston is this year's Johnny Football (without the controversy.) I hope Ohio State doesn't play for it all. That would be a rerun of ND 2012, as they are an above average team taking advantage of a bunch of bad opponents, consistently needing big second halves to get past the likes of Northwestern and Iowa. But they might go undefeated (who is going to beat them, Michigan?) , and we might have to watch another beatdown in the NC.
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Looks like FSU better enter conversation. Absolutely! Mizzou has a long way to go so it's probably best to savor the time. What I like about college ball is the uncertainty, frustrating yes, but fun on the long run. As far as the national championship, it will be up to the polls and right now AL, OR, OSU, and FSU are leading the pack. At this point it probably depends on who is standing undefeated at the end. Yes I know Mizzou is undefeated, but they haven't hit a game against a "healthy" opponent yet. The good thing for them is that they will most likely before the end of the season and get their chance to make a real statement. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Oregon has to get past UCLA and Stanford, Probably will of the two Stanford might be the hardest of the two. Ohio has Penn and Michigan to get past, Penn is playing with heart and sometimes that can beat you I doubt it but possible, Michigan is tough any year The Sems have 2 instate rivalry teams either one could beat them Baylor is where the concern lies they have a hell of a team and I don't see them getting beat easily by any of their remaining opponents, simply put they are blowing people out. There is also an interesting side note on this if you look at it in a BCS way ( if that's humanely possible ) Baylor is Big 12 which gives them an automatic Fiesta Bowl Birth! This could screw them in a Tie situation with Oregon as Oregon is Pac12 (formerly pac10) which gives them the Rose Bowl automatic birth. << just saying with BCS you never know what they might pull >> Bama I don't see a loss but with LSU you never know Mizz looks good but as I said before Ole Miss is tough and they proved it yesterday and ATM with JFF I think is a loss. SC better not take thme lightly. Gut is Oregon v Bama. Baylor is a maybe Mizz has to go undefeated plus beat Bama in the SEC CG that's a tall order. But all the above is what makes college football fun no matter who you route for. I love College ball always have. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

The good thing for them is that they will most likely before the end of the season and get their chance to make a real statement. I think Mizzou has already made their statement. Georgia and UF are borderline top 25 teams, but Mizzou throttled both of them. No, they are not healthy, but neither is Mizzou. We don't have our quarterback or our best cornerback. No one is healthy at this point, not in the SEC. I think Mizzou has proven it is capable of going undefeated. I don't know if it happens, but it's fairly likely. South Carolina and A&M present stern tests, but Mizzou is the better team in both cases. I don't know that we are better than Alabama, but it's close. I'd give us a 20-30% chance of reaching the national title right now.
Justin Spencer Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Hope guys keep getting kicked out against Mizzou. Sucks to lose your starting safety on the first play, huh Florida? ozark trout fisher Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 Hope guys keep getting kicked out against Mizzou. Sucks to lose your starting safety on the first play, huh Florida? Missouri has been hurt bad by the targeting rule (Andrew Wilson and Randy Ponder both ended up on the wrong end of it.) Time one of those calls finally went our way.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Worse rule to EVER come out! Not that it is not needed but for god sake THINK BEFORE ENACTING! It has affected several big games this year. Real simple if the player is not ejected, then the call on the field was wrong and no penalty should be assigned. Also this call MUST have the automatic review and be much clearer defined. Ive seen several smaller players kicked out for hitting a taller opponent "crown" that looking at it is clearly just a Shorty vs Giant and that needs to be taken in to account. Its a simple fix and should have already been handled. #1 If overturned by review then the entire penalty is overturned! #2 Must take "intent" into account not height or where the hit happened but was there intent or was it unavoidable contact. I don't think anyone can argue a true intentional targeting vs a game speed or unavoidable hit because of game speed. I hated the dam thing when it came out and said it will affect games and it has! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Real simple if the player is not ejected, then the call on the field was wrong and no penalty should be assigned. Also this call MUST have the automatic review I agree F&F. The rule is a good one, but poorly thought out. It should be exactly what it was meant to be and judged within the context of what it was suppose to accomplish, stopping the practice of using the helmet as a battering ram against the helmet of another player. The NCAA has the power to educate the officials on what to call, including the review. I know they can't change the rule mid season, not possible, but the effective can be mitigated. I admire your enthusiasm OTF, but in college football there is no fairly likely. It's one weekend at a time. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
