Quillback Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I don't have any positive information to give you guys, it was a struggle, I got 6 bass into the boat, only 2 keeper sized, a 2.5 lb. smallie and a 2 lb. spot. Caught all my fish on jigs, mainly around or near docks. Could not get anything going on the steep banks or back in the coves. Once the sun came out, the shad started swimming around near the surface, but for whatever reason the bass weren't chasing them. Water temps were 65-67 Got to watch an eagle try and get some scaup (bluebills) for breakfast, he was diving on a cluster of 4 of them, the eagle would swoop down and just before he got to them, the ducks would dive and then pop right back up after the eagle started to climb again, the eagle gave up after 4 or 5 attempts, pretty cool to watch and I was rooting for the eagle, but today was not his day to have duck on the menu.
Pepe Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Sorry the fishing was tough but appreciate the report.
Rodmaker Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Getting to watch something like that makes the trip worthwhile even if the fishing was slow!

Members wayne b Posted October 25, 2013 Members Posted October 25, 2013 any time I get to fish is a good time. As of late I have not had the time though. Self employed an swamped with work
