Members phiber_optikx Posted November 2, 2013 Members Posted November 2, 2013 Just curious, I know CC is open to bow and muzzle but I have never seen any hunters while fishing there. I have seen a few deer though. So have you seen people hunting there? How were they set up?
Buzz Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I think I've only seen one bow hunter. He was walking near the creek and sort of startled me. I remember hoping they didn't think I was a deer tromping through the creek. One other time we got there just as a couple of muzzle loader hunters were dragging out a nice doe. Other than that it's been quiet. I have thought maybe about wearing a little orange though, just haven't done it. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

Big Brown Trout Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 i went by there today and saw some people out bird hunting, also saw lots of cars parked at the field access areas. Let the summer of Carp, begin.
Feathers and Fins Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Capps is a Dove and Quail hunting area and those to activities tend to kick deer out making it a difficult deer hunting area. I've tried it a few times but found the other activities negatively impact the chances for a deer and so I gave up on the area for that. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

So have you seen people hunting there? How were they set up?There are an occasional deer hunter. One guy I ran into on my way out had a fly rod and a muzzel loader on his back. I have hunted it myself got deer, ducks and squirrel. I have seen some drive by dove hunters, shooting then off the line. Basically, when it comes to hunting the area, you'll have far more fishermen than hunters. It's not much if a place to hunt. Other than a squirrel here and there, the hunting really sucks. Meant to say FOR deer, ducks and squirrel. I have never shot a deer there. ollie Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Couple or three weeks ago when I was there I saw a couple out with a muzzle loader. He said they hadn't seen any, but he had seen some before out there. last year I came across a guy who had gone duck hunting on the lower end and did well. Have seen some rabbit hunter there as well and they did just ok. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members phiber_optikx Posted November 4, 2013 Author Members Posted November 4, 2013 I have jumped a few deer while fishing. Hoped that meant there was a good population.
