Members Corb90 Posted November 10, 2013 Members Posted November 10, 2013 I have an itch to get out and do some small stream fishing for some trout but with little time it is very inconvenient to drive an hour and a half to Meramec springs every week. I frequent BSC but am looking for another option. If anyone wants to PM me about some streams that are hot right now (ESP with trout) that would be fantastic and Id be forever greatfull. Im pretty tight lipped. Fish alone 90% of the time. Your secret is safe with me, I promise. HELP A FF BROTHER OUT!
jdmidwest Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I hear catch and release season is open at Meramec Springs. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

David Unnerstall Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 'Can't help you Corb. I CAN tell you about a dozen places where I don't catch fish.
stlfisher Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 You all can PM me your secret trout spots too!
SpoonDog Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Im pretty tight lipped. Me too There's a few FF organizations in the St. Louis area, some solid fly shops, a number of books on fly fishing the Ozarks, as well as MDC publications and biologists. I'd urge you to gather information from as many sources as you can get your hands on- part of the fun is doing your own sleuthing.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Hmm this is a new one to me, I didn't know there were any secret spots left in the state? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Old plug Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I agree with you wayne. The big secrets were always HOW . And those if you do keep a few. Are generally so far from the norm they think your full of it anyway.
Members BassHunter132 Posted November 13, 2013 Members Posted November 13, 2013 Crane Creek, Mill Creek, Capps Creek, and Hickory Creek just to name a few. Depending on when you go be on the look out for Redds.
