Newbie From The Springfield, Mo Area

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been floating around the forum off and on for a few years now, but I'd like to get a little more involved. About 5 years ago I relocated down here from the Kansas City area for school and don't plan on leaving the beauty of the Ozarks any time soon. I spend as much time outdoors as I possibly can. Most of my free time is spent hunting, fishing, and mountain biking. Neither of my parents are really into hunting and fishing, so pretty much what I know now is mostly self taught. I've been fishing for a while now, mostly in pursuit of largemouth in every bit of fishable water I can find. Ever since I moved to the Ozarks I've loved chasing these feisty smallies around. I'd really like to learn more about fishing for trout, crappie, white bass, and walleye. I don't currently have a boat, so most of my fishing is from the shore or a canoe. Phil, I don't know if you'll remember me or not, but you picked me up in your boat below the dam on Taney about a month ago and helped me get into a few nice trout that evening. Really appreciate it! That white jig you gave me has produced a bunch of fish since. I really enjoy good challenge. I'm really starting to get into bowhunting. Once again, I'm kind of learning while I go, but I'm pretty much obsessed at this point. I'm also starting to get into fly fishing and fly tying. Muskie fishing is something that I'm dying to give a try, so I look forward to reading more posts on those toothy critters. I'm really into the history and nostalgia of the Ozarks. I'm dying to get my hands on some original maps, photos, tackle, etc. Looking forward to hearing some stories as well. I think that's about it. Looking forward to chatting with you all!
