Parts Interchangeability On 9.9 Mariner 4 Stroke(Tohatsu)

I need to repair my lower unit and I am looking at/for used parts but not sure what will fit. Anyone in the know or know where I can find parts?

You didn't say what year, but does your lower unit housing look like this?

I need all the gears. I will get the numbers off of it when I get home. that looks sort of like it but its hard to say. Mine doesnt have that cone behind the prop.

If you're replacing the compete gearset then you'll need the fwd.bearing/race, seal kit, and a new pinion nut also.

them things are built wimpy. I found a good deal on a 15hp honda but its set up for remote steer. Do you know where I can lay hands on a stick steer setup on the cheap?

I can probably get a Teleflex kit at 40% off MSRP after Thanksgiving. Other than that I dunno (ebay?). Dont see many of them around here, and have only installed 1 in my whole working life.

I think it would be awesome for a river jon. I normally fish alone so getting the weight centered in the boat would be great.
