timsfly Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Had another good day at the park, lots of nice 3-6 pound trout in the water, with enough 8 and 9 pound trout to make it interesting. I caught several nice fish today, caught a lot of them on glo-balls, san juan worms, woolybuggers, and even a few on small pheasant tails, not a bad day, the wind didn't start blowing till this afternoon so it was actually quite pleasant early, I did talk to the hatchery, today, going to be another stocking of 350 the first week in dec. also there is going to be a stocking of lunkers at capps creek and hickory creek here in the next couple of weeks, mostly 3-6 pound rainbows, and there will be 3 more stockings over the next few months at capps and only 2 more at hickory. So when you don't have time to drive to branson and it is in the middle of the week and you can't fish the park, go fish capps creek or hickory creek, they are usually pretty quite, especially in the middle of the week. Still lots of eagles in the park, and they have been down low all week. Water is still normal and clear, the MDC is doing some digging in our C&R area, they are supposed to be placing some large piles of rocks here and there to provide some more cover, it should help, I'll post some pics when they finish up. Quillback Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I saw one of the trucks hauling out a load of wet dirt the other day on my way to Big M - now I know what they were up to.
