Greg, your not the only one that came back fish-less today.

Maybe some help for others. Water temperature at the 412 bridge on the White was 39 degrees...I forgot the snow melt would be cold. Hickory was 44 degrees with some bait clouds in the channel. Monte Ne to Horseshoe Bend was 47 degrees. Didn't see much bait but I didn't fish there long.

At least I have some information that may help if I get out tomorrow or Thursday.

Off topic. My Lowrance 520C on the console has been shutting down sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes it will stay on for an hour. Like to find something on sale with the same features to replace it. Maybe somebody knows of a model being closed out? I have a near new Huminbird 898 with SI on the bow.

Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.

If your unit had a GPS, you could look at the new Elite 5 or Elite 7 units. The Elite 7 is pretty nice. I believe it has GPS, sonar and structure scan.

Keep in mind, it's generation one and not Gen 2 structure scan so the signal is not as crisp and dots per inch resolution on screen is not as high as the newer Gen 2 units but.......the Elite series is more affordable.

I have the Elite 5dsi (which is being discontinued for Elite 5 without structure scan because of Hummingbird's competitive units I heard)

Something to think about. Depends on what you're looking for and wanting to spend. PM me if you want more info.

39 to 47? There has to be a Mudline and possibly a surface thermocline somewhere in that area Find the cleaner side/warmer side and that is where the fish should be.

Christmas Sales will be full force next week possibly a good time to upgrade or get a new unit.

Man.....between you and F&F tonight, a man can keep a secret.... LOL!

Ok, so the Shad Rap is definitely no secret. Lots of people use them and they are NOT the magic bait.

Ive been using Shad Raps for about 25 years LOL one of my favorite baits. Ive always got a couple around. I dont just throw them in the tackle box either I keep them in their original box when not in used. Ill tell you one of the best crankbaits I ever used was A Bagley's Killer B 2 I think in clear water a crank bait without a rattle is better. I had one of them old Bagleys that almost all the paint was knocked off it and it will still catch fish. They are made from balsa wood. I also preferred the old Wiggle Warts with no Rattle's in Clear water. I think the Rattles are a little bit much for these clear water bass. Ive used the exact same colors of Wiggle Warts one with Rattles and one without and the one without would out perform the one with Rattles every time. In Clear Water.
