Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 11, 2014 Author Root Admin Posted January 11, 2014 Phil Would it be possible to video the talk, for those of us who are too far away to attend? Joe Sorry I didn't get a recording on this. Hope you and others can make it to the round table talk on January 31st in Springfield. I will get an audio recording of hopefully each seminar and post them.
LittleRedFisherman Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Sure wish I could of made to this!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Members raise the motor Posted January 11, 2014 Members Posted January 11, 2014 An audio would be great. Like lots of others, I am a long ways removed from SWMO, but enjoy the forum and fishing in the Ozarks when down (will retire there full time soon). Thanks Phil for an excellent forum. Have you read Rocky McElveen's book Wild Men, Wild Alaska? I've read some of your posts about Alaska fishing and thought you may have met Rocky. Interesting book and a concept (adventure and risk creates soul-searching). Not sure I would want to risk a plane crash for the opportunity, however. I actually called him and visited quite a few times with Rocky. Was going to fly in to his camp a number of years ago and visit while up there but it didn't work out. Haven't talked to him since. Quite a story. Being in the same boat with then President Bush with a buck knife on his hip... not many people were allowed to do that I bet. And if you live and fly in Alaska long enough, you WILL crash. Question is will you live to crash again! I have not had any close encounters but I can sure see how it happens.
duckydoty Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I've ended up in the trees one time with the pilot trying to abort take off. No damage to aircraft or passengers. Pretty exciting event. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

duckydoty Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Sorry, i forgot all about your shin dig this weekend. Was going to come. Taking off from the lodge we had a rudder cable break and pilot could not steer the plane while on water. He shut her down, but we stilled plowed into the trees on the other bank. Luckily no prop strike. Had to get a boat to pull us out then pulled all the tree branches and leaves out of the flaps, fixed the cable and were on our way. Been on one plane that while step taxiing down the Moraine, hit a shallow gravel bar. It caught the float and slammed us right up on the gravel bar. Took almost 2 hours to dig and push us off that one…..Kinda like a Big Creek incident I seem to remember…LOL! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 12, 2014 Author Root Admin Posted January 12, 2014 What incident? :-)
ScottK Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Had a great time this weekend. Thanks Phil and Marsha, the talk on Friday was very informative(big thanks to Steve also). And the dinner last night was awesome. That smoked salmon was the absolute best! Caught a few fish, nothing very big but a good time anyway. Will definitely be coming back!
John W Kelly Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 My brother and I had a great time too and thank you for the 6 star hospitality! We hope to make it an annual event for us, if you decide to continue offering it.
