Bigmo Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 bill my front graph is on the blink right now so I had to fish by looking at the rear graph on the console. I can't wait until Santa Claus brings me my New graph I was just lucky they were fish all around me from the front of the boat to the back of the boat
Old plug Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 For some reason deep spooning is not all that good on LOZ Bill but I still do a lot of it. I usually carry setup with me all the time. In the summer I have these certain high spot that will pass over and check out if I am near them to see if some big catfish is laying around down there. in the fall I look for whites and hybrids. But I have a spot about 150 yards from the house that is just off a point and in the winter. There is a mass of fish about 40 ft down out there that is as big as a house. I have jigged a spoon on it a few times. Fish are so thick down there you can feel the spoon bumping off them. It is a wonder I did not snag some. There was a fella out there a couple years back with those exact intentions. I seen him 3 pr 4 times and he only snagged one fish that looked like catfish to me. I might just have been out there at the wrong time. It does not take much cold wind to drive me in.

Boy I have tried turning around a console graph or trying to fish one that is not on the front of the boat and it is really a pain. Again great catch. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I might not have posted a photo with GPS coordinates, but that's just me I guess. I do appreciate the report. I'd love to make the trip you made.On those fish he is on, that mouth of the Kings deal 1 mile either of three ways is no secrete. Not uncommon to see 20 boats out there on them when they are on those swings and humps. Another deal is they are very bad about moving. You can look on those locations and look and one minute they are there and the next gone. Shell Knob Bridge to San Suci up the White or from Twin Rivers up to the first bend in the Kings, those are Wintering grounds for Whites and K's. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Any reports on the White River walleye boys yet? http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bigmo Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 Ham I thought about posting the pic with the gps on it but there were shad stretched out for hundreds of yards plus if anything I post can help somebody as new as me who's getting use to fishing deep water is ok with me. Bill was right they were always moving. When I started looking for them before 11 they were sitting in 80 fow 50' down. They slowly made their way towards the 50' depth sitting in 25 to 30 fow. By the time I left fish were in the 15' depth. I didn't have any luck throwing a jerkbait or a-rig in that depth.
Feathers and Fins Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Any reports on the White River walleye boys yet? Did not see the Winnebago. But expect they should be out by the end of this month https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
merc1997 Bo Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 first off great job and great outing. to answer bill about marking line. you can not always have your lure in the cone due to wind blowing and other factors. i for one never worry about seeing by lure in the graph. i use a 5500c, and i will tell you it is a very accurate line counter. with a normal filled spool, one trip across is 7 feet of line. most accurate and quickest method of being at the right depth with your lure. bo
Old plug Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 BO the thing that has always bothered me about counting depth by the reel is as your line goes off the reel spool the spool becomes smaller becomes smaller and it would seem to me the amount of line leaving the the spoon every revolution would be less also. Never have to go as deep as you do down there but it has ben something i have thought about.
