Did anyone else sign up to be a Marshall when the elites come down to table rock this upcoming year? I signed up as soon as it was available. I called today and I am still on the waiting list??? Anyone know how this works?

I did sign up to be a Marshall also for that tournament and I got a letter letting me know that I was number 7. So I think that if there are 7 cancellations I will get to go. That is all I know right now. This the first time for me.

Hmmm. Yeah I don't really know how that works and the people on the phone you call don't know either ha! I just figured since I signed up as soon as it was available I would get to do it. That is of course there wasn't a bunch of life members that signed up first

I can understand the waiting list but what I can't understand is that they have use of your money for MONTHS and the poor communication.

It is highly unusual for a business to charge your card before there is a deal.....they are sitting on a lot of member money

I got a letter saying I made it. I had to send an entry form in to varify I was coming. I agree that communication is awful. I have been waiting just like you guys with no idea if I made it or not. Yeah it is pretty frustrating they take your money for that long. I fished the open here a few years back and they did the same thing.

Welcome to the new age of BASS. If you think the staff is lacking in professionalism, wait til you meet some of the anglers. Remember that wild ride the poor marshal lady took down the tailrace below the dam in Alabama last year? And the same (or lots worse) could've happened to others. So much for the rule that says safe-boating practices much be observed at all times. Not a one of those jerks up there in that tailrace were penalized 1 ounce for endangering the lives of their marshals.

To each his own but I'd get awfully bored sitting there watching a guy pitch a (insert your favorite soft-plastic sight fishing lure here) at bedding fish all day. You'll learn a lot more (a lot cheaper) right here on this forum. Just my 2 cents' worth. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

And if you make the mistake of subscribing to B.A.S.S. magazine, they'll call you every two weeks to try and get you to extend your subscription.

I paid on opening morning at 9 am, and they sent me an email about a month later saying i was in the tournament. I got a packet in the mail about 2 weeks ago saying CONGRATULATIONS YOUR CONFIRMED. This was all that I read of that letter, so thank you Sore Thumbs for making me realize I needed to send in the entry form!

Yeah spin. I called BASS after I recieved that letter just to make sure what I needed to do. I thought my entry was done when I signed up. Another thing I did was write a note on my entry form for someone to call me when they recieved it. Just in case usps lost it I would know if someone doesn't call me within a few weeks or so.
