uhhh.... maybe try hiring one for a day??? Or maybe you could just ask one if it is okay to tie on and troll right behind him!!!! LOL. Not sure what you do for a living but I would imagine you would be a little upset if someone was trolling for your job!

LOL, this post really made me laugh... NO I am NOT a guide nor do I want to be one... I just respect the time they put in to their jobs that really don't pay that well.... Ya, I know it sounds like a glorious job but after you factor all costs it really isn't that much money, well unless they are booked about 250 days per year... then they get some guy just trolling the internet to learn their secrets... Really????

Goggle, They "troll" this site and yes I know it for a fact! They take reports off people here and use them so to me it is exactly the same situation as you getting on Greg for asking. But I actually think of it as worse as these are guys who are on the water 200 plus days a year and could share their valuable information in tips and techniques to help others. To me they are stealing information and not willing to share in return.

I wouldn't ask them their spots by any means but sure would be nice if people using this site ( and they are ) would help others, things like ramp conditions, how to keep shad alive for a day or even couple days, general area the fish are and depths, techniques etc.

If you read the Xeroxed AGFC report each week you have to laugh that is no report especially when you understand how big Beaver Lake is. Telling people Stripers can be from Indian Creek to War Eagle is a JOKE! Especially when this time of year all the guides are say in Hickory creek or in summer at Point 3. How about just telling people the truth Say in summer that the fish are from Indian Creek to point 5, still a big area but truthfull. I will give you a great example BAILEY who AGFC said they use is on VACATION TILL MARCH according to his own FB page post from 12/24 on vacation for 3 months because the bite is to slow!! Yet this weeks AGFC report sites him as to reference of where to fish and how deep, BTW almost a Xerox of other reports with a few tweeks and when I was at PC a few days ago there were a lot of striper guides in the parking low which is no where near "lost bridge south point 6 or other areas listed"!

So Gregg here is what I would do, Most of them have nice stickers on their truck, Start at PC and see if any are there, If they are you may need to run a bit to find them they have center console boats. When you find them give them respect and don't ride up on them but fish the general area. Winter is tougher especially with the lakes temps right now, But with warm days you might find them. I would launch at PC and run up river till I hit the muddling and then start motoring back toward PC, if you have live bait set them up to cover from 60fow to surface in 10ft intervals if you don't I would put out at least 4 roads two off bow two off stern, Set the bow rods with Umbrella-rigs at least 5oz each and set the back two with Alabama rigs no more than 2.5oz each and run them to find the depth the fish are at. Good luck these temps are not conductive to good striper fishing but you might get 1 or 2 if you are lucky.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I just asked a question and did not mean to offend anyone. I do not encroach on anyone's fishing spot. It does not matter to me if the are fishing to make money or recreation.

I love fishing and enjoy the time on the lake. I would never do anything to other to jeopardize the enjoyment I get from the sport.

Not a matter of not liking. Bailey is actually one I recommend to people. Its the BS that AGFC does with the reports or should I say lack of realistic report. They would do better contacting The Dam Store, Hook Line and Sinker and Southtown and get reports from people who hear from anglers each day. I really don't feel a guide is going to be the most "accurate" source to help people as they sure the heck don't want people near "their clients" fish. I have seen Bailey at work and he gets fish and I have yet to hear a bad report from his clients and that say to me he is a good guide. However telling people stripers are in Indian Creek when they are in PC Area is a bit misleading, sure there might be some there but when I see your boat in PC and watch you fishing around PC just be strait forward and tell people.

I know I have pissed a few guides off but oh well I will be very detailed because I want people to catch fish and to me someone who would send people on wild goose chases that may only have a Saturday plus the cost is not cool.
