BilletHead Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 The Mrs. and I had a fun hunt this afternoon and Evening. Hunted over water in the roaring wind. Lots of birds in the air, mostly snows working the field right behind us. Some came pretty close heading into the field but no shots but we did decoy some mallards and canadas. Four mallards and they just happened to be all green. Three geese. Pat wished we had weighed her big goose on top of the pile. She said it must of weighed 18 lbs. She wants to get one bigger than Fins and feathers A couple of pictures to share with you all, BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" BilletHead " One thing in life is for sure. If you are careful you can straddle the barbed wire fence but make one mistake and you will be hurting" BilletHead P.S. "May your fences be short or hope you have long legs" BilletHead

Feathers and Fins Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Nice pile. You need to invest in silosocks to draw in the snows. NOT near the meat that the honkers have but mighty tasty none the less. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

JohnP Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Funny you mention that GB, knew a guy years ago that thats what he used and floated bleach bottles if he was hunting a pond and recall that he did fairly well hunting snows on a poor mans budget.
Feathers and Fins Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 John I have a good friend in Mass that uses Bleach Bottles to hunt Eiders. Heck I use to use diapers ( cloth ) to hunt snows and 1/4ed tires for honkers. Decoys sure have come a long way. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
