Champ188 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hey bobw, good job to you and your partner of beating out a heckuva nice sack on a hard day to fish. And thanks for the info. Good luck in the championship. Same to you, Sprint21.
Sprint21fter Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Appreciate it Champ, Good Luck to you Bob and Ryan. We have been getting plenty of bites until 11:00. We will hit 10 spots and get 3-4 bites but on Saturday didn't have enough size.
bobw Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Thanks guys, Ryan and I have fished togather off and on for several years. We are looking forward to the fish off.
Sprint21fter Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Ryan has fished with our club over the years and is real good stick.
Champ188 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 You better be a pretty good stick to fish that winter series. Those boys will lighten your wallet in a hurry.
Sprint21fter Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Those group of guys have wore our butts thin the last three trips. They don't call it the Winter Series for anything. When the water gets cold these guys whack em.
Champ188 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 They pretty much ran me off, Sprint. To get there from Arkansas, Donna and have to either stay the night before or leave home 2.5 hours before takeoff. Either way, we're paying for a tank of truck gas, boat gas and entry fee. No more chance than we have to beat that bunch out of any money, I just can't justify the expense. I'd be inclined to donate more often if it wasn't for the long trip.
buddygr53 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I tryed the winter series this year. One thing I found out was I don't know what I am doing. I live in kansas city..and I to have a long drive. I joined this year in hopes of learning how to fish cold water and what to use...what I did learn is I am way out of there league
Sprint21fter Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The level of competition is top notch and going into every tournament you know you will have to catch em. This has made me fish differently in order to try and catch better than average keepers. As long as I am competitive and I get beat I don't get mad, but when I am not I must be missing something it makes me fish even harder making me a better angler.
buddygr53 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I don't get mad but it upset me that I can't figure out what I am doing different than them. I take my hat off to them as they are a good group of fisher men.. I just wish I was 1/4 th as good
