dtrs5kprs Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Has anyone noticed any difference between North American made 'fins and the overseas versions? Saw some recently listed as "North American" made, packages look a little older, thinking maybe that means Mexico. Believe my latest additions were made in China.
Champ188 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 None of them work worth a crap. Throw them away.
motoman Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 You're killin' me Smalls. - Interesting observation Dave; have you gotten a chance to examine the baits of different countries of origin up close?........like any physical appearance differences. - I'd be curious if there are any internal differences, like if the rattles are similar?; wall thickness differences? etc.
Champ188 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 The Chinese version has a fortune inside. Now that's funny.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 The Chinese version has a fortune inside. Possibly. Maybe that is what makes the bad ones dive.

Could be one of the others is in a box in the Ranger. Was mostly curious because these were listed with a higher price, presumably based on origin. Otherwise they look like regular chrome/blue, chrome/black, gold fins.
dtrs5kprs Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 Follow up... Picked up a couple of fins in the old black/red stripe package (not because I think they are special, but because they were cheap, and might be special). Back says they are designed, molded, and quality tested in the USA. They look the same in all ways, might have a slightly "tinny" rattle compared to current ones. Would like to provide more, but even after a warm day they would still bounce on all of our local lakes.
