Alex Heitman Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Been looking at the 8" ABT Banshee but the beast weighs like 3.5oz. Might get one of those and a 6" SPRO BBZ1 to see which I like better. Check out the huddleston 68 special. The videos look awesome
Old plug Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 those big swim baits are not cheap. I selected the bbz 1 6" slow sinking model. I see all sorts of potential with that. It will be sometime before I uncover how to get the most out of it. its is not my regular bait. it is a supplement to my my regular large plastic worm fishing. If i like this one I am going to get the same plug in a 8" inch model. thing to me is it sinks slow. that is the most imprtant point to me.

I have a 6in banshee, it sinks too fast, like 1.5-2ft per second so I'm not using it right now in this cold water. But the banshee has potential
Old plug Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 RICHY I bought the 6" slow sinking model. It meets the requirements for the system I use lunker hunting. I really think of it as a great aid to that. I use very large plastic worms with anywhere from 3/8,oz to a BB sized split shot as a weight. Mostly 1/4 or less. I like a very soft drop. while my system has been very productive most years last year was terrible I only caught 4 bass over 5 lbs. and 2 of them were in about 1/2 hour and about 100 ft apart and they were on large docks in shallow water and thats not my system. I was vey fortunate that evening. i think the problem with my system they were rising for fish. So the BBZ is going to go with me set up on another outfit. I am sure iI will catch some fish on it.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The only two I use are Improved clinch and Palomar! Never had an issue with either only Floro I use is Seagar though. Same here. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
