KCRIVERRAT Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'm sure some or most of you S.W. Missouri guys know of his passing a few weeks back. Our outdoor editor of the KC Star up here was good friends with him as well as his son Jeff. Always enjoyed Brent's write ups of J.D. whether it be of his Devils Dive Resort or his Kings River trips. Kinda surprised nothing's been posted here on OAF. Anybody here know or ever fish with the man? HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
countryred Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I remember reading some articles about him when I was a kid. The stories really made me want to try some float fishing.
bfishn Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Never got to fish with him, but had some quality visiting times, both staying at his cabins and fishing by his dock and shoreline. He was one of a kind, gracious and engaging to a fault. He lived to fish, and in that regard he lived pretty well. Salute, my friend, you'll be missed. I can't dance like I used to.
Quillback Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I did not know he had passed. Sorry to hear that. I never met him, but saw him in a couple of fishing shows and read about him in fishing articles.
Dutch Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I never personally met him but one of my brothers in law guided for him for over 20 years.
KCRIVERRAT Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Well... maybe this is a sad time for some of you guys. Not many replies for a SW Missouri fixture. I'm betting that out of the thousands of lurkers on this forum he guided more than one of you. Phil... did you know him at all? HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Bill B. Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I spoke with him on the phone a few times. He seemed to be a decent fellow. When I was a kid and Table Rock was new, Harold Ensley did a lot of shows from out of Devil's Dive Resort.
