Members dogman Posted March 9, 2014 Members Posted March 9, 2014 Has anyone tried the long pole drifting method on Stockton, like they do on lakes further south from here.
Flatbottom Boy Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 AKA Spider Rigging... They are nuts about that down on Kentucky Lake.
Jerry Rapp Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 they do that at Wappapello and Clearwater also. 6 to 8 rods out. I thought there was a law to how many rods a person could use?
Flatbottom Boy Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 They are good Mr. Rapp... 33 hooks unless on the big river then it bumps up to 50, more than 3 poles you must label them with your conservation number or name and address.
Jerry Rapp Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 so all of them crappie rods on the front of their boats are labeled with their conservation number or name and address. ????
Flatbottom Boy Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Sure they are! That law really makes no sense to me anyway if they are on a spider rig. I can see if someone has made a camp on 300 yards of beach with 33 rods out, but not rods that are contained within a rig like that. But it's probably easier to make a blanket law than to break it down. I dunno I just researched it after you asked the question.
straw hat Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Give Flatbottom Boy a cigar!! He nailed it dead on. Spider rigging works best for me on Stockton in May and early June and again in September to mid Oct.

Another law that no body enforces.
straw hat Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I have them all labeled with name and address and phone number. I have also been checked twice by agents for compliance with that new law.. No tickets.
