Duck Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Put in at Sweetwater at 10, fished the flats and some drop offs up to the 86 bridge with maybe one quick release of a small something at the boat. Water temps from 42 to 46, very little action on the fishfinders. Talked to 4 other boats and all but one was also blanked, the one who did catch a fish had a small bream. Going back to Roaring River tomorrow, will report results. Still beats the hell out of staying inside with cold weather. Good fishin, Duck.
duckydoty Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Caught some big whites in the James River Arm today. Peach Orchard to point 15 in 16 to 20 feet of water in front of a wind blown flat. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
vonreed Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I'm not very familiar with the local names. Is Peach Orchard upstream or downstream from Pt15 I'm not after whites to much, but I am trying to learn to local names for later conversation. I want your crappie spots though, lol
Members Reeserod Posted March 11, 2014 Members Posted March 11, 2014 Im gonna hit point 15 hard in the morning and a lil of flat creek....should be good
duckydoty Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Just down and across the lake from pt 15. There is a green brush pile sign right there in the corner. No crappie on that brush yet, but in 20 feet of water out in front of it and on to Stones flat was a bunch of them and the monster whites. There you go. You have one of my spots. ;-) A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
vonreed Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Yeah I've been over there, just didn't know it was peach orchard. If I get desperate for something to eat I will go after those big slimy whites. Now if they were little whites I'd be all over em. Thanks though for the education.
