I think it's awesome that he let her go. A true sportsman. The two biggest largemouth were not let go. One because it was dinner for his family (understandably so given the conditions and era of the day) and the other for bragging rights and fame, not for honor but for glory.

I tip my fishing hat to this fellow angler and say well done sir. Congrats.

Should have said he was using a Mustad wacky hook...lol. Might have been a million dollar pay day. Awesome fish and has beautiful markings as well.

If we had their climate the spots might take care of the jet skis. Wouldn't be safe to swim.

IF

I wouldn't complain. Lol!!!

Honestly I don't mind the jet skis all that much. It's the ski/wake boat's that really bother me with their back and forth, back and forth throwing big wake especially when they turn to head back down a cove/creek.

Well since you started the wake boat thing......

I agree with the above but what is worse is when they are sitting in the middle of a cove to pickup a fallen skier or just sitting in the darn cove and when you go buzzing by, they look at you the same way we look at them when we are fishing and they drive by within 50-100ft off us with the bow lifted and going slow thus pushing large wake towards you.

They own the lake. Didn't we know that? (grrrr.... sorry, you started it) :yuush:

Ok, this thread has been officially "thread-jacked". Now back to the original point of this thread.

Haha yeah, I only ever fish the k-city area of the lake, and I do it in Mid summer. The power boat yahoos just use the bridge as a landmark I guess.....They all come way up or down lake, then just u-turn around the pilings and go back.....why this is fun for someone Ill never know...but its annoying in my little bass boat! ALso I love that he caught it on a wacky rig senko....that is my favorite jig and plastic presentation! I think he was using a weight though? Ive had best luck with it weightless.

HWY 13 bridge, apr 10, 2008. I think that is looking north towards K-city INN. Cool pic I thought. I lived in springfield at the time and used to fish the rock regularly, even tried to fish when it was this bad (terrible idea btw.), but I thought it was awesome that I was able to touch the bottom of the bridge on the north side without even standing up.post-15299-0-99185000-1394733227.jpg

Would have referenced wake boats, but think they are too much even for mutated monster spots to tackle. More in the range of a 50 cal BMG deck mount.
