Bigmo Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Fish were right against the bank today on 45 degree banks. The red wiggle wart and a purple head 1/2 oz. football jig with dark green and brown skirt provided to me by Danger Close/Skunkworks worked like a charm. Largest was a 17 largemouth and two keeper kentuckies on the wart and 6-15 inch kentuckies on the jig. I probably had at least 10 others pick up the jig and drop it just as quick. I had a couple taking it sideways before I knew it. My green line blended in with the water and was awful hard to see it today. Trash was coming down the Kings by sweetwater ramp around 3 today so fishing is going to be bad down the kings for the next few days. Water temp was up to 50 by 4 pm in the Kings.
duckydoty Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Nice job. Good looking fish. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Quillback Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Good job, glad to see they are hitting the DC jig.
fishingaddiction Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Great report. Sounds like the Kings will be muddy for a while. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Alex Heitman Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I don't go up the kings to often but if you can safely get through the trash in most creeks and rivers they will clear up again
Pepe Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Glad to hear the jigs worked for you. Thanks for the feedback. I'm working on a new batch now.
Bigmo Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Sorry I didn't show a pic of the jig but the painted purple head was the key to catching them. I tried two others of yours with green heads and they wouldn't touch them. I throw the purple back and they hit it immediately. Go figure.
Hazbin Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Was there any muddy (" track a coon" ) water around sweetwater? If it's muddy enough that might get me out of my chair.
