Members Chris Musick Posted March 31, 2014 Members Posted March 31, 2014 Ive been 3 times in the last week. Visited blunks hole, under 76 bridge in cape fair, old road bed across from flat creek resort. Ill ive managed to do is make my wife mad and realize braided line is a MUST w umbrella rig. Ive used big grub and minnows, little ones, white, purple, blue, green, and white rooster tails. Plz help lol. Oh and i dont have a boat lol
J-Doc Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 For the love of Pete man! If you're on the bank throwi g an a-rig, why don't you just take $15 and throw it in the lake. Holy cow. Those things snag anything and everything. That's a boat bait fir sure. You will lose every one you own from the bank. I use 50lb braid and reel down and pull back while holding the reel and pulling us I g the reel so it doesn't strain the reel seat on the rod. Usually, the hook straightens and pulls loose. Sometimes, it doesn't and you have to go get it from the boat. I even have a special bait retriever made for a-rigs. If you're on the bank, you're at the mercy of location. Live minnows are you're best bet. Can't tell you on location. I don't have a clue. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Members Chris Musick Posted March 31, 2014 Author Members Posted March 31, 2014 ive straightened several hooks lol and only place i know to get minnows is shell knob and thats 30 minute one way trip to any place ive heard for whites.
duckydoty Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Blunks and Taylor Shoals will happen soon. Should be this week. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Bill Babler Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 The guys were just ganged up fishing under the 86 bridge today on the Kings, so for that to happen during the week, there must be something going on. Just a guess. When you are fishing an A-Rig from Shore, you are most likely pulling it back up hill. That is a big NO-Go. and will cost you money. I'm fishing mine with Table Rock Bait Company Hooks on Jig Heads ie Chompers. and they will bend out. I'm fishing 80 # Power Pro Slick 8. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
inshore Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 1/16 to 1/8 jighead with white slider. 8 pound test cheap jigs if you lose it your wife won't be as mad.
Bill Babler Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Yes the girls are way more frugal than we area. If Becky is fishing with me and she loses a Fish Dr. she is ready to quit. She would probably faint if she saw me loose back to back A-Rigs. Lost 3 megabass baits in 2 hrs. one day and that did register with me. But that's the way the cookie crumbles http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
JF660R Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 In years past I have had good luck with roadrunner and rooster tail from the bank. Mainly roadrunner in white or chartreuse. Now days I have a boat so I just practice throwing money into the lake. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nocturnal-FabWorx/346443168872812 Like Nocturnal FabWorx on Facebook
vonreed Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I have fished all those locations before off the boat. Luckily I have a boat now. Your best best would be to fish around Blunks hole, either downstream or up to Taylor shoals about a mile above Blunks. I would defintely put my time in that area if I was you. White Vibraspins and small jigs with white bodies during the day or purple bodies at night would be my first try.
Fishslayer88 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The rock bank below blunks has been pretty good the past few days sows are finally making it up there a rig is the only thing really producing we have been using the flash mob jr with either white or blue thunder swimming minnows.
