Knows how much it's been babied too. Why are you selling such a fine boat? I want a bigger one. I was planning on keeping it forever and definately through this summer and into next summer but the wife randomly gave me the green light on purchasing a new boat so........that explains the sudden "sale of boat". When the wife lets you...........YOU MOVE ON IT. lol Here’s the kicker. I paid $2,200 for rebuild, $200 for tires, $200+ for deck extension and carpet, $300 for batteries, $100 for boat buddies (transom straps), $40 for trailer jack, $30 for trailer winch, $60 for bunk boards, $350 for trolling motor, $150 Eagle fish finder, $400 Lowrance fish finder/chartplotter, etc. etc. I’d like to get what I feel the boat is worth plus the accessories as I’m not going to give this away. I realize it’s an older boat but the add-ons and upgrades justify my starting price. I’ve done a lot of work on this boat over the few years I’ve had it as it was my intention to keep it always. I simply do not have the room for 2 boats as I thought I would. This boat has been in my family for over 34yrs so it’s a bit of a baby to me and I’m not going to give it away. So my asking price is $3,850 or best offer. The rebuild and add on’s alone justify the asking price. If I can find the right buyer, I’m willing to negotiate. If you’re seriously interested, you can email me at jb_adams@hotmail.com for more info or to see the boat. Serious inquiries only. I’m ready to order my new boat so I’m ready to sell. Not for taking to the lake for joy rides. :-) I've included a few recent photos below. More to come. J-Doc Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Thanks Quill. I appreciate that. I'm fighting tears on parting ways with her. I've got enough photos of the transformation on this boat, it's insane. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! J-Doc Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Oh and a 3- blade stainless steel Turbo prop comes on boat. Spare steel OMC 19p prop also included. 2 original finding seats and a bike seat as shown in photo. Spare tire is new also. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. J-Doc Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 I should also mention that since the rebuild, I've only used Royal Purple synthetic 2-stroke oil after the initial break in period. $50 a gallon. Spoiled much????????????? Yes, why yes she is. She also gets wiped down after each trip and shined with a fresh coat of "quik-wax". You're not buying a boat, your buying my baby. So you have to past muster before I'll sell her. I want to find a good home. NOT a quick sale. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! zarraspook Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Great looking boat !!!!! What length is the boat ???? Could the wife and I and the dog stand to be in the boat for 4-6 hours ?????? "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
J-Doc Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 It's a 15.2 so roughly 15ft. Rides heavy and solid. Prefers chop on the water. Only time I've ever been uncomfortable was in 30-35mph winds at Rocky Branch with ski boat traffic everywhere and chop was 3-4ft pyramid shaped. I couldn't keep it on plane without jaring something loose. Beat it pretty good so I eased off and took it easy. Other than that, she takes it and goes. 2 people can fish all day long easy. As long as dog is not a great dane....don't see why not. Lol Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! zarraspook Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I didn't know if the 15.2 was feet or a metric number.... Thanks... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
J-Doc Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 No prob. They were made in Bastop LA in the late 70's and early 80's. We're some of the fastest boats of their day I'm told. Only made for about 5-6yrs. Don't have any other history than tat on company. Boat and trailer still has "Buddy's Marine" from the original dealer. I preserved those. I think it's cool. I'm the 3rd owner. First owner wanted a ski boat a d sold/traded within a year to my cousin and they had it for 30yrs. I've had it for about 5 now. Need marine repair? bfishn Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 If I came back as a boat after I die, I'd be lucky to have an owner like you. Really obvious you've 'gone overboard' in the TLC department. Hope you get what you want. I can't dance like I used to.
